Irinyi Irinyi János (Albis, 1817. május 18. – Vértes, 1895. december 17.) magyar vegyész, a zajtalan és robbanásmentes gyufa feltalálója, Irinyi József bátyja.
Az 1848–49-es szabadságharcban jelentős politikai szerepet játszott, Kossuth őt bízta meg az ágyúöntés és puskaporgyártás irányításával, és az állami gyárak felügyeletével.

Irinyi János Irinyi (Albis, May 18, 1817 - Vértes, December 17, 1895) is a Hungarian chemist, the inventor of the noiseless and explosion-free match, the brother of József Irinyi.
He played a significant political role in the War of Independence of 1848-49, and Kossuth entrusted him with the management of cannon casting and gunpowder production, and with the supervision of state factories.
