It's really ruin. I couldn't see the castle with strong concentration either. The tour to the ruins, on the other hand, was easy and pleasant.

I was there at the end of July. It was still closed due to renovations. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any information on how long it will take. Plus, it wouldn’t be bad to signal at the foot of the mountain at the beginning of the hiking trail that the ruin is closed.

Well-signposted, easy-to-find castle ruins. A good little tour for people from the Great Plain.

From the edge of the village, following the tourist sign, it can be approached through the forest. It is a good excursion destination for holidaymakers at Lake Balaton.

We wanted to tour a large section of the South Transdanubia Red. Along the way, it turned out that Gyuri Fischer, the driver, had forgotten his credentials at home. Redesign! Since the booklet of the Somogy castles was there, we decided to have the castles come! We first visited the castle of Fejérkő on the border of Kereki. Kereki is a village a few kilometers from Balatonföldvár, near which the remains of Fejérkő Castle rise on a beautiful regular forest-backed mound. In 1193 III. Our king Béla gave Dueregui to the Johannites (this is the first written mention of the village). Sometime then in the XIV. The castle was also completed at the beginning of the 19th century. It was also the property of the Marcaliak, the Turkish family of Enying and the Báthoryak. After 1540, the retreating Hungarians blew it up so that the Turks would not nest. In the XIX. In the first half of the 19th century, stones were dismantled (partly for the construction of a church and partly for a hunting lodge). The castle is not a stone castle anyway, only stone was used for the foundations. Its brick walls have been plastered to snow-white, rising blindly from the emerald foliage of the area. While Kontha Gabi was sealing in the store, I took a few pictures of the “stone usurper” temple. Then we headed for Kaposvár. We turned right on the first paved road. Where we ran out of asphalt, we stopped. Here you can already see the tourist signs leading to the castle (red ruin sign). At the Czikó resting place (Czikó - he was the first known castle ambassador), turning left, a regular leafy hill fills up. The castle stands at the very top of this. In addition to the hiking trail, a tower ride leads to the castle. (I don’t recommend if the ground is life-threatening even a little damp!) The hill looked small, but the drifting was long and awful. When I see the castle my eyes widen. The ruin is small but in good condition. Almost two-meter-long brick walls poke into the sky. On the south side you can clearly see the former ditch (6-8 meters wide and a good 5 meters deep is the tiny one). I fight myself against the ruins. From the castle - although the sky is veiled - you can see the valley bridge of the M7, the surrounding hills. As I stood by the walls, I felt like a mouse, the first baler among elephants. In my imagination, the image of a 2-storey castle is unfolding, which fearfully protects the small villages of the area. Down a few times, I test the quality of the soil with my back infestation. Then at the Czikó resting place, I sit in the car in a muddy, aching seat, but satisfied.

It's good to have a cool walk there. Too bad it is, although seeing the roof seems to take care of it, I hope.

From the Czikó rest area you can reach the castle ruins on a well-marked (L) route with a generous 25-minute hike, half of which is up a powerful catching mountain. Columns help hold on to the slippery parts. The castle ruins in their current state are not an attractive sight because they are scaffolded. Behind it, however, the view of the Köröshegy Valley Bridge is beautiful. Overall, it’s not worth climbing the barren forest on slippery ground in winter. Downstairs at the resting place you should definitely see the stud if they are outside, you can see a very special breed of Arabs.
