The statue is based on a 70s cartoon character "Mekk Elek az ezermester” or "Mekk Elek the handyman", a goat handyman who lacked the skills to do his job but tried anyway and usually ended up fixing the issue in a comedic way. "Mekk" by the way, is how you say the sound a goat makes in the Hungarian language and "Elek" probably comes from the word for electrician since the goat is a handyman. Kolodko's statues are sometimes stolen by people or removed by crazy politicians wielding axes and thrown into the Danube/Duna, please bear this in mind when visiting. The statue is placed at the foot of the stairs of Széll Kalman Square, very easily walkable from the metro and tram stop.
