In the Second World War and after 1945, he fought persistently for Hungarian sovereignty and democracy, in 1945 he worked as the Secretary of State for the Interior, and then became the Minister of Agriculture for a few months. In 1947, with a false accusation of "shaping anti-Soviet espionage and counter-government." despite his immunity, he was arrested by Soviet secret service men and then sentenced to twenty-five years of forced labor in the Soviet Union. Ez az esemény fontos volt a kommunista hatalomátvétel előrehaladása szempontjából és kijózanítólag hatott számos magyar politikusra, akik előtte még bíztak a magyar politikai rendszer demokratikus úton maradásában, mások számára pedig bizonyítékot jelentett arra a várakozásukra, hogy kommunista egyeduralom következik. Béla Kovács (Patacs, April 20, 1908 - Pécs, June 21, 1959) is a politician of the Small Farmers' Party, Minister of Agriculture of the Zoltán Tildy and Ferenc Nagy Governments, and then of the Second and Third Governments of Imre Nagy. In 1947, because of his stand against the Communists, he was arrested by the Soviet authorities and transported to the Soviet Union and held for years in an unknown place. This event was important to the progress of the communist takeover and had a sobering effect on many Hungarian politicians, who had previously trusted the Hungarian political system to remain democratic and provided evidence of their expectation of communist rule.

One is a decent scratch because it fits into the environment to the extent that you can easily overlook it, but if you make a trip here I think it's worth seeing it.
