★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We saw Yuja Wang and the Philharmonic perform here. It's a great space, but the experience was the worst I had ever had to suffer. The island itself is pretty trashy in some places, and it was difficult to find decent restaurants on the island. There is a restaurant here at the theatre, but we sat at a table for about ten minutes (which we were told by two different people to just take a table) and we were completely ignored. I paid way too much for a disgusting chicken, pea, and potato sandwich (who even does that) that we couldn't even eat. Nearly nobody speaks English (which really is only a minor inconvenience).
Then it rained (not like they can control that) and they had no way to deal with the wet seats. You'd think they would have some backup since it seems to rain in Budapest ALL THE TIME. Either way, everything was handled quite unprofessionally the entire time. The concert started a half-hour late. The only redeeming quality was the excellence of the music. The price for the ticket was WAY TOO MUCH for the experience.
Not worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall, the island can be covered in 1 to 2 hours. You can rent a bike, golfcart or electric scooter to get around in 1 hour or take a walk and check the rose park, water tower and zoo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came here in the middle of a heatwave to watch the Cirque Éloize. The open air theatre is a gem in the middle of Margitsziget and a great place to experience a show.
The sound and lights were as good as any professional theatre and there was plenty of legroom between the rows. The lobby has a selection of concessions that offer snacks and drinks or your just as free to bring your own food with you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a really lovely venue in the middle of a lovely island. It seems like it holds a lot of people and like most spots have a pretty good view of the stage.
The staff leaves a little something to be desired and the ice cream stinks and the seats are definitely not comfortable, but a big open air theater is a nice experience overall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great ambience and show, thoroughly ruined by the thumping techno filtering in from the next venue over. Very surprised at this lack of coordination/regulation between venues.
Could've been a 4.5/5 without the noise pollution.
