A kapu olyan, mint egy kis vár. Bejárattal rendelkezik, bástyája van és árkádjai. Ezt az építményt szánta a város a Mecsek hegység jelképes bejáratának, ezért is kapta a "Mecsek kapu" nevet.
A Mecsek-kaputól az országút szerpentinje kanyarogva vezet egyre magasabbra. Számos túra kiinduló pontja ez.
One of the most beautiful monuments of the Mecsek is the Mecsek Gate on the right side of the driveway leading from Pálos Church, going up the János Hunyadi road. The arcaded, natural stone building was built by the city of Pécs in 1936 according to the plans of Gyula Kőszeghy. It was renovated in 2001.
The gate is like a small castle. It has an entrance, a bastion and arcades. This building was intended by the city as a symbolic entrance to the Mecsek Mountains, which is why it was named "Mecsek Gate".
From the Mecsek Gate, the serpentine of the country road winds its way higher and higher. This is the starting point for many tours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A busz itt tesz le, így nagyon könnyen megközelíthető, bár autóval parkolni valóban nem lehet.
Viszont, amikor lelépsz a buszról, elmegy az összes jármű a közeledből, és egy picit fellépdelsz az emlékhely lépcsőin keresztül az erdőbe, sokkolódni fogsz a friss levegőtől, és ez manapság nagyon sokat számít.
The bus stops here so it is very easy to reach, although it is really not possible to park your car.
On the other hand, when you get off the bus, all the vehicles are leaving you close and you step a little through the stairs to the memorial into the woods, you’ll be shocked by the fresh air, and that matters a lot these days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Érdekes hely,kár hogy kocsival szinte sehol nem lehet megállni a közelben. Érdemes innen felmenni a László-pihenője kilátóhoz. Bár a magasra nőtt növényzet miatt semmit sem látni. De manapság semmi ilyennek nincs gazdája.
It is an interesting place, it is a pity that you can not stop nearby by car. It is worth going up from here to the László Resting Lookout. Although nothing to see due to the tall vegetation. But nowadays there is no such thing as a master.
