★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful building in the center of the pecs, its the example of how pecs is rich in history. I didnt have chance to go inside because it was close by the time I was there but from outside it reminds the old ottoman era mosques. Biggest standing ottoman era monument in hungary

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful Ottoman Muslim architecture. This mosque of Pasha Qasim was not a church before, it was built in the mid 16th century. And after the so called ¨The Society of Jesus¨ captured Pecs from the Ottomans late 18th century, they destroyed its minaret and the women section in it. And turned it into a Roman Catholic church. It was their idea to put the cross on top of the Crescent as a sign of provocation and victory (you can see this also in the Eger minaret). The mosque Hasan Paşa had the same experience, but it was restored with restrictions. Basically, every mosque in Hungary had been demolished or attempted to be demolished.
