★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a famous fountain in the City of Pécs, which was the only fountain on the Main Square (Széchenyi tér) until 2010. The lower part (southern part) of the Main Square is the place, where it's situated in front of the catholic church.
This fountain is famous because of the four bull's heads on it, which are made of ceramics, with the unique technology "eosin" (an green-yellow "colour" made through merging of different metals), produced only in the Zsolnay Ceramics Manufacturer, which is a traditional company of Pécs.
On the fountain, which has the form of an Obelisk, you can find the Caught-in-Arm of the City of Pécs - on each side one - which is made with the same "eosin" technology.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best time to see the fountain is ANY time that is NOT winter! Like most water features in Hungary, fountains are turned off to prevent damage from water freezing. Many fountains and statues are also covered completely to prevent damage as well. Rest of Széchény Tér is impressive summer or winter.
