★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nagyszerű fotós hely. A fa tavasszal, március vége felé borul virágba. Akkor mindenféleképpen, de máskor is érdemes felmenni ide.
Great place for a photographer. The tree blooms in spring, towards the end of March. Then it is worth going up here anyway, but also at other times.

A Gellért-hegyi sziklatemplom Budapesten található nemzeti szentély, építését Lux Kálmán tervei alapján 1931 tavaszára fejezte be Weichinger Károly. 1934-ben egy neoromán stílusú kolostor is hozzáépült a templomhoz, a Gellért-hegy Duna felőli oldalán. A magyar pálosoknak a rend megszüntetése után 150 évig nem sikerült újraéledniük Magyarországon.

The Gellért Hill Rock Church is a national shrine in Budapest, and its construction was completed by Károly Weichinger in the spring of 1931 according to the plans of Kálmán Lux. In 1934, a Neo-Romanesque monastery was added to the church, on the Danube side of Gellért Hill. The Hungarian Paulists failed to revive in Hungary for 150 years after the end of the order.

we found it by chance because it was not in the guides. original church inside a cave and opposite the Gellért baths. the Church of the Rock is original. It is inexpensive for entry and they give you an audio guide. its entrance is on the carved hill in front of the spa. under the cross. Inspired by Lourdes in France.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Gellért Fürdővel szemben a Gellért-hegy falának egy mélyedésében bújik meg a Sziklatemplom. 1931-ben alakították ki egy természetes barlang folytatásaként. A mellé épült kolostorba a pálos rend költözött. A Sziklateplomban a rend máig őrzi legfontosabb ereklyéjét: Remete Szent Pál csontjának egy darabját. Kezdetben a sziklateraszon, a szabad ég alatt tartották a szertartásokat, innen ered a név. Az ihlet pedig egyenesen a dél-franciaországi Lourdes-ből származik, amire a templom előterében lévő Lourdes-i Szűzanya-szobor is emlékeztet. Az ősiséget, meghittséget árasztó falakon túl érdekesség, hogy a templomban télen-nyáron 20 fok körüli a hőmérséklet, köszönhetően a sziklában megbúvó melegvizű forrásoknak. A templom hétfőtől szombatig nyitvatartási időben szabadon látogatható (a miseidő figyelembevételével), a hegyen látható nagy kereszt alatt találni a bejáratát.
Opposite the Gellért Bath, the Rock Church hides in a recess in the wall of Gellért Hill. It was formed in 1931 as a continuation of a natural cave. The Pauline order moved to the monastery built next to it. In the Rock Village, the order still preserves its most important relic: a piece of the bone of St. Paul the Hermit. Initially, the ceremonies were held on the rock terrace, under the open sky, hence the name. And the inspiration comes straight from Lourdes in the south of France, as evidenced by the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in the foreground of the church. Beyond the walls flooding the antiquity and intimacy, it is interesting that the temperature in the church is around 20 degrees in winter and summer, thanks to the hot springs hidden in the rock. The church is open to the public from Monday to Saturday (taking into account the Mass), its entrance can be found under the big cross on the hill.
