Már 1784-ben a templomot nyugat felé kibővítik, elkészül a "renováta". A mennyezeti kazettán olvashatjuk: "RENOVÁTA: ANNO 1784." A festett fakazettás mennyezete, berendezése, szószéke, karzata adja az igazi értékét, s emeli olyan hírnévre, hogy ország-határainkon túlról is egyre többen jönnek megtekinteni ezt a kis templomocskát. A színes mennyezet készítője a nevét egy kazettán megörökítette: BARÁTH MIHÁLY. Az építtető nevét is megtaláljuk a mennyezeten: "AZ TÁKOSI NEMES REFORMÁTA, SZENT EKLÉSIA " In 1766 the population erected this church, out of what could be found here, in wood and mud, when the provisions of Mary Theresa refused the stone and the brick from the Reformers. The maker of the colored ceiling recorded his name on a cassette: MIHÁLY BARÁTH. The name of the builder can also be found on the ceiling: "THE NOBLE REFORMATION OF TÁKOSI, SAINT ECLESIA"
