★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sáp falut a Szentes és Szegvár határán emelkedő Sáp-halom körül azonosították. A hagyomány szerint e Sáp nevű vitézről nevezték el, aki a törökök ellen vívott harcban itt esett el.
1730-ban Mikoviny Sámuel csillagász itt végezte szögméréseit, ezért a Sáp-halom térképtörténeti emlékhely is egyben. Ennek emlékét egy tábla is őrzi a halom tetején.
 The village of Sáp was identified around the Sáp mound rising on the border of Szentes and Szegvár. According to tradition, it was named after this knight named Sáp, who died here in the fight against the Turks.
In 1730, the astronomer Samuel Mikoviny made his angular measurements here, which is why the Sáp mound is also a map-historical monument. A plaque on top of the pile also preserves the memory of this.
