I first came to Simon with a plea for help. I had a vintage shearling jacket in desperate need of repairs. This was far from his area of expertise, but he tracked down somebody who could help me and made the necessary introductions. The next time I came to him, it was with a suit and a tuxedo that I needed tailored for my wedding. Simon is a bespoke tailor; he doesn't do alterations, but, nevertheless, he helped me and made sure I was perfectly suited at the altar.
Simon and his helpful staff have time and time again gone out of their way to help me, even though my requests have fallen outside of business as usual for them. They will, without a doubt, be my first port of call when I am ready for a bespoke suit.
I HIGHLY recommend you visit Simon if you are looking for a top-shelf suit and, of course, for a top-shelf customer experience as well.

The soul of the business is bespoke tailoring, however if you are just visiting Budapest, you can also find a small but discerning selection of accessories and ready-to-wear clothes. Two highlights for me were: (1) all of the Petronius 1926 scarves and pocket squares. Petronius 1926 clothes are extremely difficult to find (apparently, they export a lot to Japan), and are of exceptional beauty and quality. (2) The Simon Skottowe label -- basically consists of perfectly made foundational pieces. I bought myself a pair of grey/brown flannel trousers, as well as one of their polo shirts, which have a very elegant wide collar inspired by the 1930's. Staff are very helpful and courteous.
