CONS: - This is definitely not a 5 stars service. - If one is unlucky (like we were), then one can end up in the room with a floor entirely covered with a carpet, which lied there for ages probably, and has been absorbing dust and smoke since then. Hence, you can imagine the smell in the room as obviously a carpet is not that easy to clean. - Don't expect the 5 stars hotel's breakfast either. Maximum - of a 3 stars. - Having a huge room with spacy parts, you can enjoy having only one window for all of it. - It is better not to switch on the air conditioning, if you are not a big fan of urine smell. - The bathroom's ventilation either doesn't exist, or is very silent and slow. PROS: - However, the stuff of the hotel is extremely nice, polite, friendly and helpful. E.g. the night manager allowed us to change 3 rooms until we finally could have 2 windows and a floor without the carpet. - The bathroom interior looks like a ball-hall: brand new, full of gold colour and fancy. - The hotel gives u a bit of a feeling being in midivel age. - The courtyard, where it is also possible to have a breakfast, is very neat and cosy. - The hotel is located in a proximity of the main sightseeings.

If you want to experience what a 1980s five star hotel must’ve felt like than you’ll love this place. As previously mentioned it totally feels like you’re staying at a royal palace. Marble hallways, fancy real wood furniture etc. Solid and as beautiful as a hotel room can come. Helpful staff (Balint was awesome!!). This hotel however felt like it’s financially run lean, and is nowhere close to a 2018 five star hotel. The breakfast was the worst of our entire trip. I saw so many guests peak in, look at it and immediately leave. The breakfast male waiter was also the rudest person I encountered on my entire trip. Didn’t bother to welcome any of the guests who came into breakfast, and only showed up to boss people around and disappeared once they needed something. We avoided the restaurant all-together after our encounter with him. Towels were clean but thread worn. Room clean enough but quite dust layered around all the edges. Our room only had a bathtub, so be sure to confirm if you require a shower. Strange place, but if you don’t mind the quirks a funky affordable hotel away from the chaos of Pest with super convenient and safe parking.

Wow. What a surprise. My room is a full size apartment with mini kitchen, couch, desk, full size bathroom, great air-conditioning, super nice beds, cute and relaxing courtyard. They had my room ready a bit early, so I was able to shower before going out for the day. I feel like I'm staying in a castle with its own musium. I'm loving the location. It's up the hill on the Bids side.

This hotel is in very well situated. Our only complaint was that the room did not have seating other than a table and four chairs which was not really comfortable for watching television. The staff seemed a little unfriendly and my request of ice seemed to annoy everyone. I had hurt my hand and needed to ice it daily but found it very hard to get ice from the bar. I did enjoy our lunch of Beefsteak and would return if they were able to make the rooms a little more comfortable. Having spent over 6 weeks in Europe and staying in several different hotels I would not classify this as a 5 star at this time.

My wife and I dined there last night, we had two separate entrees and shared them, traditional Hungarian selections- They were fantastic, flavorful and great presentation-excellent. We ate in the garden area and had local beer and red wine, both great choices. Also, very good prices & service. Just down to he street from the St. Mathias church.

Didn't stay at the hotel as a guest, but had lunch there. Their menu meal was great value and delicious, giving us a teaser of the traditional hungarian cuisine. The venue is incredibly beautiful, definitely worth taking a look. Great choice of wines and very helpful staff. We were in a group of 9 with no reservation but they still managed to arrange for a big table for us.

Amazing local food! We had the recommended 3 course meal with Goulash, Hungarian noodles with Turkey and cheese cake. Best selection for those who would love to try the local food. The coffee was excellent too. Service was great and price were reasonable. Definitely will come back again when we visit next. Btw, the interior is beautiful too. Looks like an old building.

One of the best stays in Budapest. Spacious rooms. The room had a kitchen and the bathroom floor were heated. A seperate sitting area with the kitchen. Almost felt like a small apartment. The breakfast buffet was not that great. Less options. But the staff was friendly and it is located at a very convenient location. The castle is at a walking distance. And the bus station is also really close to the hotel. Loved the stay.
