The room was beautiful and the staff both friendly and helpful. I probably wouldn't recommend if you're disabled - not for the hotel itself but the location. It is quite the hill to get to the hotel or it means taking public transport to get anywhere constantly. If however you love trekking on foot to explore it's brilliant.

A lovely boutique-style hotel in the castle district of Budapest - a great fusion of character (being the oldest hotel in Budapest) and modern luxury touches. Staff were friendly. The included breakfast is a simple continental one but good enough to start the day! Location- the castle district is very pretty with great views across the Danube to Pest, however it does feel a little separated from the main city.

So many things coming together. Had to wait an extra 35 minutes until I could check in because the room wasn’t ready. Disappointingly the room wasn’t clean after the extra time I had to wait. One of the heaters didn’t work. The coffee machine broke. One day my room key didn’t work anymore and I had to phone the staff at 1:30 in the morning to get access into the hotel. One of the staff members was super friendly and tried to make up for some of the things, but all in in all it was a disappointing experience for the price I paid. Can’t recommend to spend that amount of money on this place.

Nothing to say but great! Very cosy and traditional hotel to enjoy the calm out of the streets of Budapest. For people who rate smalls details like the smell of the soaps or the softness of the showet towel instead of innecesary luxuries. In the night you will have the pleasure to enjoy the castle and the fantastic views from there with no crowds. It is expensive but the experience is worth to try it.

We booked 4 night in this hotel and was really looking forward to it but it didn't go as plan. Be aware due to COVID reception is open with limited hours (10am -7pm). Check in was easy even if we arrived after 7 pm our key was left in safety box. In front of the hotel there is s massive building restauration going on so the next day we were waken up at 7 am by drilling / pipes falling down, workers shouting.... We were not impressed. We asked to change room in the hope it will be better, we were given an upgrade which was a very nice gesture. Again on Saturday morning the worksstarted prior to 7 am with drilling noises , pipes again, it was worse. We asked to change hotel as it was all except relaxing, the manager accused us of liying and told us he was at 7 am at the hotel and there were no noise what so ever ... Why we will have make it up.... At the end they moved us to their sister hotel Balthazar. This is a much quieter option, no drilling, very nice room with courtyard view and Thomas the receptionist was very nice. if you stay there there is no breakfast available due to COVID, you need to go to Pest Buda and reception has limited hours . Breakfast is minimal and I will not recommended to book it . They found us a solution however on their website they don't disclosure the full details of the current situation due to COVID. For the same price we could have book a lovely b&b and this didn't feel like hotel due to lack of services

Difficult to express so much gratitude for such an incredible experience.... Because if you all listened to me, we wouldn't be able to get a booking for ourselves again. That said.... It is absolutely the best location, staffed by the most friendly and kind professionals, in the most FABULOUS hotel rooms.... Absolutely fantastic.

I stayed 3 nights in pest Buda design hotel, Nice designed hotel , but … My advice never book with breakfast, they charge a lot of money for it but in fact you receive 2 plain croissants, small cup of coffee and really small cup of orange juice. Staff not so friendly And I can add it’s enough to stay there one night as it’s far from the main city center So one night is enough to see the main attractions around the hotel. Clean is average.

the hotel is located 2 minutes away from Fisherman's Bastion so it's a good choice if you plan to visit that area. stayed there for 2 nights and the room was cozy, beds comfortable, with a delicious breakfast and really friendly staff. when we made the booking,we had the breakfast included, which means two croissants, coffee, juice and water. we found this out only after the check in so initially we were not that happy about this. the next morning we ordered something else from the a la carte menu beside the croissants. this was not our best move because even though it seems small, it was more than enough to have those 2 croissants. they are freshly made and quite big. that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy the a la carte food which again, was delicious and I would recommend it. the room itself was nice and we had a street view. as a minus, the bathroom was small, with no ventilation so it can become a problem since it's near the entrance and 2 feet away from the bed the shower area is also open, although that did not bother us at all the hotel also does not have an elevator,as expected since it's an old building. we didn't mind that and I'm positive the staff would've helped us with the luggage if needed, but it's something to keep in mind.
