A bronzszobor Maróti Géza szobrászművész, építész és iparművész alkotása. A gróf belső inasának emlékei szerint egyetlen éjszaka állíttatta fel Bolza Pál a szarvas-szobrot, hogy a feleségét születésnapján meglepje vele. Manapság szilveszter éjszakáján a fiatalok zarándokhelye. A rendszerváltáskor felvetődött, hogy a szobrot visszahelyezik eredeti helyére. Bolza Mariette, a gróf lánya azonban úgy nyilatkozott, hogy a szobor méltó helyen áll. 1950 óta áll a város központjában."
