Szarvas fejlődése a város evangélikus lelkészének, Tessedik Sámuelnek a nevéhez fűződik, aki egyszerre tudós, népművelő, földműves, ipari és mezőgazdasági szakember, igazi felvilágosult egyéniség volt. 53 évig szolgált a községben. Születésének 200. évfordulójára készült e szobor.
Inaugurated in 1942 Keviczki Hugo works. Originally it stood on Main Square. The development of the deer comes from the name of Samuel Tessedik, the Lutheran minister of the city, who at the same time was a scientist, cultivator, farmer, industrialist and agricultural expert, a truly enlightened individual. Served 53 years in the village. This statue was made to mark the 200th anniversary of his birth.
