★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Az 1920-as évek végére Újpesten már több mint 40 ezer katolikus élt. Gróf Károlyi László 600 négyszögöl telket adományozott, a hívek gyűjtést indítottak egy új templom építéséhez. 1942. szeptember 12-én volt az alapkőletétel.
A neoromán stílusú templom 1946-ra épült fel és Szent István király tiszteletére szentelték.
By the end of the 1920s, more than 40,000 Catholics lived in Újpest. Count László Károlyi donated land from 600 squares, the faithful started collecting for the construction of a new church. The foundation stone was laid on September 12, 1942.
The neo-Romanesque style church was built in 1946 and dedicated to King St. Stephen.

I was baptized here and my children, we were all first communioners here. Many of our loved ones rest here. I come here for Mass. I fondly remember Mr. Ferenc Brunáry, the parish priest, and Father János.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Újpesten kertvárosban születtem, éltem, a mai napig Újpest az "otthonom", bár már egy másik városban élek. A templom pedig csodaszép, érdemes megnézni, gyermekkoromban sok gyönyörű misét hallgattunk ott a nagymamámmal, nagyszüleim az altemplomban alusszák örök álmukat.
I was born in a suburb of Újpest, I still live in Újpest, although I live in another city. And the church is beautiful, well worth a visit, during my childhood we listened to many beautiful masses there with my grandmother, and my grandparents slept in the cathedral forever.

The church itself is beautiful, simple. The sub-church does not give a bit of an intimate atmosphere, crowded like a residential complex. I wasn't there

The Basilica is beautiful! The exhibition of the legacy of King St. Stephen in the Sub-Church is worth seeing! Free, Sept. 19, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
