Nice restaurant with a nice design in the Japanese spirit. The hosomaki was good and had a nice flavor/seasoning of the rice. The Japanese curry was also good as was the sukiyaki (beef hot pot). The stock on the hotpot was not flavorful enough for us, but that was easily fixed with some soy sauce. Unfortunately the waiters did not seem to know anything about the Japanese food they were serving, and we got no guidance for choosing a sake to go with the food. (the oseki one turned out to be very sweet). The macha cheese cake however was a disappointment, as it lacked taste and the batter was soft) Quite expensive though compared to other non Japanese restaurants in the area.

This is my first time trying the korean cuisine and i can honestly say that this experience was 100% worth it. I ordered the wagyu beef on the grill and the side menu (korean side dishes like kimchi and pickles and different sauces) and everything was just delicious! If you are craving some korean dishes or if this is your first time (like me) I highly recommend it!! Also, the staff were extremely friendly and very very sweet.☺️☺️☺️☺️

I’m a huge fan of Korean BBQ and have been wanting to check this place out for a while. We ordered the Bulgogi and the Samgyeopsal. Both meats were well seasoned and delivered on taste. The Ban Chan was a little disappointing because not only were there some items missing but what did arrive was all pretty one note. The kimchi was the standout and was even better after it spent some time on the grill. What I really missed was some Ssamjang to show the meat a little love when it came off the grill or some gochujang to add to the ssam for a little kick. Speaking of the grill, the type used here are more like hibachi than the iron plates I’m used to at other Korean restaurants. Overall, a good experience that could be improved to offer more value for the money.

Very nice and unique place where you can try the famous Korean BBQ. The food was really good, I had the thailandese noodles and the Japanese Gyoza. I’m super satisfied with my choices. Im giving 4 stars only cause I think the meat for the Korean BBQ is a little bit overpriced for my taste. Top quality, I must say. If you are in Budapest and want to try something new, just try out this place ?? waiters and and service super friendly and speaking English!

Honestly this restaurant falls around 3.5 stars but I'm going to go with 3 as I'm weighing the food more heavily than the ambiance. (Short version - get the Galbi beef only) My gf and I spend a lot of time eating out and Korean BBQ is one of our favorite cuisines. We decided to give Yamato a try while we were in Budapest based on the many great reviews and distance from our hotel. The restaurant itself is beautiful and a great place to take a date or significant other. The tables are spread out over 2 levels and the decor is elegant. The staff was friendly and helpful so no complaints there. We ordered some of the non-alcoholic drinks (something blue and a boba tea). The blue drink (citrus of some kind which I don't remember) was good but the boba tea was sickeningly sweet and I only took a couple of sips. I wasn't expecting much so didn't really complain but I don't recommend it. Korean BBQ usually comes with a wide variety of side dishes (usually 6+ depending on the restaurant) and also comes with lettuce, garlic, jalapenos, and some sauce to make your own lettuce wrap, at least in the US. Yamato provided 4 sides and while all of them were OK and looked good, it was a mix of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese influenced sides. There were a lot of sauces to try. 3 stars on the sides and wish there was more variety. As for the main course, we ordered 3 different types of beef but only the Galbi ribs were really good. Nothing wrong with the other two but the marinated ribs were by far the best. If we return (and my recommendation) is to only order the ribs, which were 4 stars. Overall I wasn't disappointed with my visit but it definitely could have been better.

Amazing experience, we got the Korean BBQ, didnt grill the meat as long as recomended which made it turn out even better, got bunch of different kinds of sauces, salads... - they were all great. First time trying kimchi as well - loved it.

Sorry guys I didn’t take many pictures. We were looking for Korean grilled so we went there. The food was good, nothing special for the beverage but the service was excellent. Staffs are friendly. Moneywise it’s overprice for Budapest price but I’m still happy cos everything was good.
