This is not a hotel. We found the hotel by going to the address listed in booking.com, which is different than the address marked in Google. The reception can be found in the corner of a basement that serves as a bar for a restaurant. Still, because of the hour, we let them show us their room. We were led through a door into a building that could've been nice if they had renovated it somewhere last century. The hall seemed to lead to a bunch of apartments. We were led into one. This brought us in a hall with a washing machine, a bucket of dirty water, used flip flops and some numbered doors, one of which was the door to our room. Our guide opened the door with a key she had, not the one in my hand. The room was disgusting. The bleach from the bathroom could be smelled throughout the room. We seemed to meet the toilet at the wrong end of its weekly cleaning schedule. The bed was stained, either by earlier guests or complementary pets. The room looked like it was used for dealing rather than sleeping. Needless to say, we didnt sleep there. In the few minutes that we were there, a baby had continuously cried, somewhere in the building.

This is not a hotel. As a matter of fact this hotel doesn't even exist. the address is fake and made up as well. The real "hotel" is old Monarchia hotel and restaurant about 500 meters away from the from budapest river hotel "address" on google that doesn't even exist. The people in the restaurant run the "hotel" , which is pretty much some rooms inside the building where the restaurant is. When you arrive, they will ask for cash and tell you their credit card machine is broken. They do this, so you have no way of getting your money back if you decide to leave the hotel early. The rooms are in terrible conditions and reek of mold. The mattresses are very uncomfortable and beat up. The bathrooms, linens and towels are filthy and many things in the rooms are broken and non-functioning. If you check old Monarchia hotel and restaurant reviews, you will learn about other people's experiences. That is why they had to make up a new name for the hotel to bring more people in and I hope you read this review before falling into their trap. Some people in their reviews said this hotels is run by thieves and crooks and I have to agree with that. Stay away from this place at any cost.

This so called hotel is run by thieves, never never step inside, be warned. The "hotel" itself is old, smells like carbage and they even break in, steal your belongings.
