★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Eötvös Loránd (1848-1919) magyar fizikus - a nevét viselő torziós inga feltalálója - a Ság-hegyen végzett kísérleti méréseket 1891-ben.
Az oszlopon az "Eötvös Loránd Ság-hegyi kutatásainak emlékére" feliraton túl látható a torziós inga sematikus ábrázolása és Eötvös segítőinek nevei Tangl Károly, Kövesligethy Radó, Bodola Lajos.
Megérdemelne egy kisebb felújítást...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kicsit elhanyagolt a környezete. A megemlékezés viszont a korszakos zsenire itt nagyon is helyénvaló!
Itt a közelben van egy fogadó, mely előtt báró Eötvös József emlékoszlopa áll. Itt próbálta ki a híres ingát 1892-ben. A tábla tanúsága szerint segítői is voltak a bárónak: Bodola Lajos, Tang Károly és Kövesligethy Radó professzor, a híres csillagász. A helyi legendárium szerint ekkoriban jártak itt a bécsi Katonai Földrajzi Intézet geodétái is. Két sógort letepert a helyi bor. Radó uram jó erőben volt, hazatámogatta a két osztrákot. Másnapra már úgy mesélték a faluban, hogy Radó uram annyira berúgott, hogy két osztrák támogatta haza. Száll a jó hír szájrul szájra!

According to local legend, the surveyors of the Military Geographical Institute in Vienna also visited here at that time. Two brothers-in-law scattered the local wine. Mr. Radó was in good shape, supporting the two Austrians back home. The next day it was said in the village that Mr. Radó had become so drunk that two Austrians backed him home.
