Coming from Hungary usually checks by the Slovak authorities upon entry. But since only your ID and destination are asked for, you can usually get through quickly.

They stopped only minibuses in traffic that did NOT have "SRB" or "H" numbers ... they charged us 10 € / person each because we didn't have a seat belt. No receipt. On May 18, at 10:15 p.m. It's still happening ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Smooth crossing between HU and SK with a short waiting time, while other crossings (HU-AT and SK-AT) were a mess, that night (9th of May 2021).
Not sure why the border has been reactivated, though. Is the Schengen treaty suspended?
