1891 végén kezdődött a Hold utcai csarnok története. Eredendően a Széchényi-sétatérre tervezték a piacot, azonban a Hold utcában volt már vásár terület, így a Fővárosi Közmunkák Tanácsa a megszokott piac területét javasolta a csarnok megépítéséhez, két telekre a Hold és a Vadász utca közé. A Hold utcai fedett piac, hivatalos nevén vásárcsarnok Cziegler Győző tervei alapján épült meg. Alapterülete 2110 m2, amely egy terebélyes alsószintre és az alsószintet körbeölelő galériára oszlik. Az alsószint a Hold és a Vadász utcát hivatott összekötni.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a little underwhelming compared to the Great Market Hall. You would expect it to be busy on a Saturday afternoon but there are very few shops open.
However, it’s worth a visit for the great selection of eateries the building houses. It’s a great place to pop in for a bite to eat with something for every taste.
There’s even a directory in Braille on the ground level right inside the main entrance!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The largest schnitzel i have ever seen that even with 2 orders among 4 persons had us taking home leftovers! Wow! Great for a hungry person! We enjoyed it but when we rarely eat deep fried foods, it felt too rich after awhile! It would wash down well with a beer i am sure ?
