This is communicated to be a family restaurant, founded in 1994 but since then the owners have 3 more restuarants in Budapest, so quality declined as there is no direct family approach but more "mass serving". Seems to be no family controll and no real dedication. so its mainly for tourists: they dont come back, so it does not matter what and how you serve. The waiters are non professionals that seem to change frequently or are not attentive at all (examples: 1. forgot to give us dishes after delivering the food, we had to ask...2. another waiter got the food for one of us did not know if we ordered anything else) . The "mango chutney" was in fact not mango but an apple sauce with cinnamon (small but important detail if you want to take care of your customers you dont trick them even with the cutneys...because what you do in small defines you also what you do in big...). The naan bread was not crispy but seemed to have been warmed up from the other day (had a sluggish consistency). The "mint" version had no "mint" in it at all, tasted all the same. The souces of the dishes habe been ok, but noting special for an indian restaurant - the meat (chicken) was not tender, seems to the sauce hides the lower quality. I will not mention the tasteless, dressingless mixed salad (ok its not indian but when you have it on the menue, make it at least with spices as you show it in the menu picture). No indian music, no real atmosphere (we have been in the "box" but anyway could be better). The mango Lassi finally was good (i would have given 2 stars but as the waiter even did not say "enjoy your meal" (basic!) and even put 10% tip on the bill knowing that we have not been satisfied....incredible). Sorry to be so blunt, but i believe progress to the better is made only by real reviews and by putting the standard high.

The food deserves better rating, but this restaurant is seriously mismanaged. Service is extremely slow on Sunday afternoon. As we set down the waiter wiped the table with a stinky wet cloth. We took out our own hand wipe to take the stink away. Never again on Sunday! We saw some people leaving without ordering, because they have given up… Update: It is no different on midweek either. Slow.

Reasonable curry at a reasonable price, had the Chicken Jalfrezi which had peas, corn, green beans and carrots in, which I have never had in any Jalfrezi before, and I have had quite a few.

One of the worst experiance I had with the restraunt yday. I had good food last 3 times i ate here.hence i decided to book the table and go and eat some good indian food.Traveled almost 25 kms to reach there. Ordered chicken vindaloo and garlic Naan and the chef just made some random chicken curry and served it, when I informed the waiters that this is not chicken vindaloo he called the waiter who kept on convincing me that this is how chicken Vindaloo is made in madras. I had to inform him that this is a Goan dish and made with either tamarind or Vinegar and I have eaten the same dish in the same restraunt before and it was good but what they serve me now is no where close to chicken Vindaloo, after arguing for 5-10 mins he agreed to change the dish, but the next dish he served me was probably something cooked in beef meet. It was so pathetic that I felt like vomiting. And I immediately ask them to take it back and get me paneer dish instead...which was better. Thankfully in the restraunt the waiters were nice. There was a new guy who was very nice and didn't take money for the bad food we had. Since yday I have bad stomach and vomiting feeling ever since I ate the food there. I would not recommend this restraunt. This is the last time I ate there.

Nice Indian Restaurant near the River Danube in Szentendre! Taste likes traditional, nice service and staffs. Food quality is high class and the price is worth it at all. Well, should try it. Part of the town near the restaurant is very peaceful and beauty. Great to enjoy the feeling of Hungary!

I’m usually not one to give negative ratings but this place was so awful that I can’t leave it without warning others. The only good thing about this restaurant is it’s beautiful riverside location at Szentendre. Other than that everything else is pathetic. The staff was rude, slow and overall extremely unprofessional. We literally had to chase them for everything. We entered and weren’t greeted, the waiters just passed us by like we were invisible. When we asked for a table they said they were full, then finally we saw a family leave and when we pointed it out the waiter said very rudely “ fine sit there then”. The service was extremely slow, we weren’t given cutlery with the food. The lamb dish was too salty and the paneer was tasteless. After the meal we waited over half an hour for the bill. I had to go inside and request the staff a number of times before they finally came. I really wouldn’t recommend this place. If you want to eat delicious Indian food please try Taj Mahal restaurant Budapest.

Even though it was a mega-busy weekend we could get seated and served reasonably soon. The waiter was respectful (though under a lot of stress.) I had the best chole here. Top rated. I will be back (maybe try a less busy weekday next time.)
