A másfél emelet magasságú fémoszlopon álló alkotás nem Szent Márton legendájának közismert köpenymegosztási jelenetét ábrázolja, hanem azt a történetet, amikor Márton püspök ruháját a koldusnak adta.
 The statue stands near the center of Szombathely, next to the road leading to St. Martin's Church, at the corner of a Socreal residential house. The work, which stands on a metal column one and a half stories high, does not depict the well-known mantle-sharing scene of the legend of St. Martin, but the story in which Bishop Martin gave his robe to the beggar.
