★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am a beer enthusiast and I especially fond of the Belgian and Dutch ones, so when I came across Mosselen on Google Maps before a trip to Budapest, I immediately knew I have to check it out.
It did not disappoint.
We went there for a Sunday lunch, we arrived when there was no other people there, so I don't know how the place is during a rush hour.
The interior is gorgeous, reminder me of similar places in the Netherlands. The staff was extremely friendly and professional and the food we had there was prepared in a timely manner and was quite delicious. Good stuff, exactly what you'd expect from a place like this.
And the beer. Of course you are mainly coming for the beer.
Mosselen has a wonderful assortment of Belgian beer, with all the heavy hitters like the La Trappe and Westmalle line, Kaastel, Tripel Carmeliet, La Chouffe and friends.
If you want to break away from your traditional Hungarian lagers and never tasted anything like this before, give Mosselen a try, but be mindful of your dose as these Belgian babies are small, delicious and strong.
My only nitpick is that we did not get a matching glass for our Westmalle Tripel even though their Facebook page states that they serve everything in the corresponding glassware. And no coaster.
I can live without this of course, so I would not give a lower rating because of this, but it would have been a nice detail.
Very well worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mosselen is a delightful Belgian restaurant, off the beaten path and with an unproposessing exterior but elegant, comfortable interior. The menu gives dishes entertaining names, even in their free English translations, but the most important things are the flavorsome offerings and friendly, efficient service. Prices are very reasonable, especially if you order the fixed-price "menu special" at lunch (until 3 pm), where you can order any main course (except shellfish dishes) and get a 2/3rds-sized portion inexpensively. Starters are extra but a dessert is included in the special price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You must have dinner and a beer here when in Budapest. The atmosphere is wonderful and the waiters are helpful. All the food we had was delicious. The beer list is well rounded. Save room for dessert.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is nice. Most importantly, the restaurant is really generous, I believe starter is already as big portion as the main course.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beer selection is great but the food is low quality and prepared horribly. We could not finish our plates and were very disappointed. The steak was extremely chewy (even though it was made medium rare), and there was barely any seasoning on it. The marinated grilled camembert was bland and cold.
I would come here for the beer and stick only to small snacks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Since I’ve moved back to America I have not found Kwak beer but I found it here at this cafe. I was super stoked about it it. It was also my first time drinking the Belirium which I thought was tasty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A most excellent Belgian restaurant. Warm welcome, good service, excellent selection of Belgian beer and the soup and main course were delicious. I had the cheddar creme soup and pan fried chicken breast strips. Will definitely return there when next in Budapest
