Vélhetőleg ez a legújabb köztéri Petőfi szobor, mivel a színház és környezetének a 80-a években végrehajtott teljes rekonstrukciójának lezárásaként 1988-ban készült el
Marton László műveként.
A talapzat nélküli szobor nagyon emberközeli, közvetlen élményt nyújt. Sajnos így emberforma állatok is hozzáférnek, akik időről-időre ellopják a vándorbotját.
 In the Püspökert (Theater Garden) stands the statue on the sidewalk to the left of the entrance of the theater, which captures our poet in the era of a wanderer.
