A város az indiai kormánytól kapta ajándékba a költő fejszobrát, amelyet a költő által ültetett fa előtt állítottak fel. 1957-es felavatása óta viseli a sétány is ezt a nevet. Az eredeti szobor helyett új változatot kapott a város, melyet 2005. június 25-én avattak fel.
The promenade is named after Rabindranath Tagore, a Hindu poet who planted a memorial tree here in 1926 to commemorate his recovery. The city received a gift from the Indian government of the poet’s head statue, erected in front of a tree planted by the poet. Since its inauguration in 1957, the promenade has also bore that name. Instead of the original statue, the city received a new version, which was inaugurated on June 25, 2005.

At one end of the promenade named after him is a statue of an Indian poet. He planted a tree out of gratitude for his recovery. It’s worth looking around the park, and since then, many famous people have done so.
