Szamos Csokoládé

Hogyan is kezdődött a Szamos csokoládé mesés története?

A Szamos csokoládé története 1986-ban kezdődött, amikor is Szamos Mátyás megnyitotta első üzletét a Párisi utcában. Az akkor még aktívan dolgozó cukrászmester itt készítette el az első marcipános konyakmeggyét. A Párisi utcában lehetett először megvásárolni a különböző kézműves Szamos csokoládékat.

A Szamos család régi álma valósult meg azzal, hogy a csokoládé rajongók örömére létrehozta a Szamos Csokoládé Múzeumot, ahol megismerkedhet a világ legkedvesebb édességének titkaival.

This is more like a coffee shop than a chocolate museum. They have a lot of options for breakfast at an affordable price. The coffee was served warm, which confused me in the beginning because I thought it should have been hot. Then I realized that was Hungarian style because other coffee shops served warm coffee, too. The museum is smaller than I thought, but that's good for the price (I paid 2 euros or less with my student card). It was nice to see how the chocolate was made hundreds of years ago. They also have tools and equipment used to make chocolate and sets of vintage cups to drink chocolate.

Very cosy and magical place - interesting and "delicious". Very rich exposition with utensils, dishes and everything connected with producing chocolate and sweets.

The museum is small but nicely put together, an obvious labor of love that any collector will understand. The price is 800 HUF, so well worth a visit. [The two bars of chocolate I bought though, we both did not like].

Good selection of cakes but the strawberry/raspberry shake was rather tasteless. They also use devices to notify when once order is ready and they play loudly so you have this annoying sound playing of you are seated inside.

Went on a chocolate museum tour today. It was interesting and fun. Tour guide was knowledgeable and spoke pretty good English. Got to make our own chocolate bar at the end!

The coffee shop is nice with good quality products. The chocolate museum is just a 20 minute tour if you take your time. But definitely interesting if you are a fan of the dark drug ?... Is not very expensive to visit, different rooms with different old chocolaters equipment. Obviously you can buy some on your way out... Cheery?.. Why not give it a go.

We booked a tour of the museum through our travel agency (Jayway Travel) and are so glad we did. Wonderful staff and delightful tour guide. We got to make some chocolate and have ice cream while we waited for it to cool. Highly recommend for a family friendly stop and a break from all the walking around the city.

A wonderful little cafe with a chocolate shop and museum upstairs. It's cheap entry to walk around the small museum, lots of interesting things to see though. The shop is reasonably priced and even if you want, you can watch a video to show how chocolate is made and how the Szamos business has come to be.
