I'd rather not give a single star. It is a canteen-style food, and you know it in the world of taste. A 10% service charge will be paid for the 30 seconds the food is dropped on the plate. In addition, they ordered the price of an Somló dumpling, which was not ordered but was "accidentally" on the invoice. One would think we were used to cheating on tourists, but they didn't think so.

Pathetic service. Paid service charge for a service that wasn’t even to the par. As a tourist I felt neglected and emotionally harassed. Got charged premium price for food that was street food worthy. I am devastated that they charged me for a to-go box. The high chair wasn’t cleaned. The zoo was interesting but this restaurant wasn’t. Everyone seemed laid back and “taking a chill”. No professionalism. As I m from the the same profession, I would highly suggest to the management to have a closer look at what’s going on. “INSPECT WHAT YOU EXPECT. “

Decent selection and prices but some of the food is difficult to get down because of taste and texture.

I do not recommend this restaurant. Very poor quality. Expensive foods, oldschool design. There are lots of people because there isn't any other restaurant in the ZOO.

We eat there quite frequently, because I want to get some “real” food into my kid and this is the only restaurant within the zoo. To make the best of the limited options, stick with the daily menu posted on a mostly hidden, handwritten chalkboard near the register. One option is usually a meaty sauce over noodles (e.g., csirkepaprikás, pretty decent for a cafeteria-style place), which comes, as of this writing, to 790 HUF by itself or 980 HUF with the daily soup. In any case, those daily “menu A/B” options are much better than the usually dry and bland regular menu items. If you are in the mood for good traditional street food and or snacks, head to the outdoor area right above and go for lángos and/or palacsinta. Do NOT order your lángos with anything other then cheese and/or sour cream. Do liberally sprinkle your lángos with the garlicy liquid from the jar that should be sitting on your table.

Dont get me wrong, the Zoo is really good. That aside, with basically little in the way of alternatives we ate at this "restaurant". I had grilled chicken which was raw in places so took it back. The staff never removed the rest of the chicken for sale despite it being obvious my raw chicken had been in contact with it. It was overpriced and disgusting. Ultimately I would have been better eating food provided for the animals.

This restaurant is the only one in this zoo, but it's quality is very low. They serve fries, some meat and hot veggies. I've eaten breaded cheese: the cheese tastes and feels like plastic.

When we entered the restaurant we saw that they put a fresh batch of fries and meat in the trays you can choose from. When we sat down and started eating we realized everything was cold and tasteless. The beer was fine. The zoo is a whole different world of quality in comparison to the restaurant.
