A II. világháborúban a szobor és a lovarda is súlyosan megsérült.
A lovardát lebontották, a szobrot pedig restaurálása után, 1983-ban a királyi palota

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The statue of the Csikos (Horseman or Wrangler - the person who is in charge of horses on a ranch) in the court of Buda castle is the work of the sculptor György Vastagh jun. (1868-1946). He prepared the statue for the Exposition Universelle in Paris (1900) and he won grand prix for it. The damaged statue was restored and erected in the court of the palace in 1983 next to the Matthias Fountain. Ive seen the statue in 2015 but this year (December, 2018) it vanished. I hope it needs only restauration again.
