The statue of Miklós Borsos was erected in 1972, which is definitely not at all like the real Janus. This, of course, is not the sculptor's fault. Janus Pannonius, the most important Hungarian humanist poet and bishop of Pécs, ended his life sick, disgraced, fleeing, at the age of only 38, as he took part in a conspiracy organized against Matthias and revealed. He passed away in Medvevár, his body was placed in a crate and transported to Pécs, where he could not be buried worthily for years until Matthias forgave the dead. No authentic portrait of Janus has been made in his life, there are paintings presumably featuring him, but none of the depictions are conclusive evidence. March 1991, II. Prior to the heating modernization works prior to the visit of Pope John Paul II, Gábor Kárpáti received permission for archaeological research of the Cathedral's sub-church. During the research, several graves were discovered, one of them can be reasonably assumed to be Janus Pannonius on the basis of the age of the stinging skeleton, indicating deformity indicating lung disease and the papal lead bull in his right hand. A facial reconstruction was made of the skull of this, showing an image of a man with a high forehead, broad jaws, strong cheekbones, not this filigree, thin, fragile sigh of Borsos. :)

The statue of Janus Pannonius stands in the corner of Barbican Garden. The creator, Miklós Borsos, hid the poet-bishop's face under a high-brimmed hat, as no authentic image of him remained. A "Transdanubian almond tree" (Prunus amygdalus) was planted next to the statue.
