Az alkotó nem volt túl jól felkészülve a zseniális festő életrajzából. Ha megfigyeljük, az ecset a szoboralak bal kezében van. Az igaz, hogy Csontváryról egy közismert és hozzáférhető önarckép jelent meg. Azon valóban a bal kezében a tartja az ecsetet, de ennek van egy nagyon is prózai magyarázata.
