Superb location, just on Lake Balaton's shore. The staff very polite and helpfull. Junior Suite rooms very comfortable, wonderful designed and with direct view to the Lake Balaton. Spa superb. The food is very tasty and high quality.

Terrible kitchen (see attached photos) and the worst service that one cannot even expect at a 3 or 4 star hotel, certainly not even scratching 5 start quality. For instance, at breakfast, you're not offered a fresh coffee of your choice, the staff is surprised if you'd like something else than the automated coffee machine. At dinner, the waiters will pour your drink at the bar, and serve your glass at the table, holding it at the top. Evening room service happens sporadically, we had to request it several times. At these times the staff was stipulating that we had the do not disturb sign out, even than we did not. There is a stunning lack of basic kindness (e.g. greeting the guest upon encounter, even if only clearing the table, or passing by), and a complete lack of serving attitude in all areas of the hotel. If traveling with kids, be warned, that kids below 14 are not allowed in the swimming pool after 6pm. Too bad the staff ruins what could be a great hotel with OK facilities and great location by the lake.

The rooms are good (ours had a spectacular view overlooking Lake Balaton). Facilities (including spa) are good for lazy days in the sunshine (private ‘beach’ is excellent) or relaxing indoors in an upmarket swimming and spa area. Staff are friendly and offer a warm welcome. Food is good. That said, the service is very inconsistent- particularly in the restaurant. The management is full of apologies but it doesn’t make up for the consistent mistakes, miscommunications and small frustrations. With some small fixes could easily have been a ****.

We spent 2 nights in this hotel and we upgraded our room to the Luxury Suite - their best as they call it. The room is far from a suite in terms of size but offers a jacuzzi and an infra sauna as well. The room is one section together with the partially open shower, only the toilet with a bidet is separated. Our feeling was that they squeezed a lot of things into a small space. The taps were all moving, not properly mounted. On the last morning we had a super stormy wind outside and as the windows did not close properly we could feel the wind inside as well while the temperature also dropped in the room. The bed always gave a cracking sound when we moved, it was a bit annoying. We also had a strange smell in the room, maybe because of the jacuzzi but later we got used to it. The breakfast was far from a 5 star hotel level but it was okay. Dinner is offered in 3 menus but we needed to skip it both days because they did not offer to change it and if you are a bit picky or pregnant you will not be able to eat for sure. First evening we went to their buffet restaurant which I wish we hadn't done. Food is not their strength for sure. Second evening the hotel offered their help with booking a table in a nearby restaurant where we had good meal. They also offered to deduct the second evening's meal from our invoice which was a nice gesture. The WiFi coverage in the room was very poor, I asked the reception if they can help, the answer was: 'I talked to our technician and he said it should work.'. Well it did not, coverage was lost all the time and even when it connected, it took ages to load in a website. Spa is nice although it was very noisy. Staff was friendly and helpful except from the above mentioned. All in all it is an okay hotel but only the permissive Hungarian rules allow them to rate it 5 stars. In reality it is more like a 4 star but luckily this is also reflected in their pricing. If you don't come with 5 star expectations, you will probably have a good time.

We come here a few times every year. The best hotel around Balaton lake. Everything is perfect, we really love to be here. The one thing can be changed. In the 5* wellness the don't controll who is coming in at all. And I pay for the Premium to avoid the mass in the wellness. And it is not cheap to be honest. So when people are coming in from the 4* into the Premium wellness, I am not really happy. ?
