First of all, we were given a phone number to call in advance of our arrival. We called 15 times when nearing Budapest but no answer. We went there just to see if someone will be there as we were told there is no 24 hour reception. We got there and the receptionist came after us. No word about the phone calls or anything. Such a jerk. Then we found out we can not pay with our card because they can only charge HUF (Hungarian currency) . We had to find an ATM that would work or an exchange office by ourselves (he had no ideea about such things even if he is from Budapest) and it was Catholic Easter at the time.. We managed to find an ATM about 30 min away, and managed to pay for the room. I wish we hadn't. The first room given to us had a problem with the shower. The water wouldn't drain. After telling the guy, he was walking around like a headless chicken not knowing what to do. After about 45 min, and talking with the owner i presume, he told us to change the room. Both rooms were very filthy, not cleaned in a long long time. The wires in the beds were sticking out so that you had to shape your body like a snake to not lay on them, the linen was very old and paper thin and dirty, hairs all over, the pillows were like pieces of foam stuffed into a pillow case, the heating was absent, wifi would lose connection, the blankets were really thin. On the bathroom door there was a sign saying that if you want the towels changed, leave them on the floor. Well, nothing happens if you do .And we know someone was in the room as we found the window open. There were construction materials all over the place, the whole building was dirty and smelly. They didn't even bother to put some soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Luckily we brought our own. There is no parking, you just park where you can, on the street .

Positives: Have free parking, budget stay, private bath & very friendly staff. Negatives: Rooms and beds are not as expected. Probably the same issue in most of the hotels here in Budapest.

I booked the lowest category room online. They gave a room on the ground floor but that room was so small and dirty. I asked for another room, there was no other room available. We saw that the bed sheet was dirty so I asked the girl on reception to change it. She said the cleaning lady is not there anymore but at least she brought a new sheet and we changed it by ourselves. The internet was not working properly. The towels were wet and the lowest quality possible. You can hear anything from the neighbour. You hardly can close the window. The receptionist is sometimes there but mostly not. There is a phone number to call but they never answer. This room cost for 2 nights around 17.000 Forint but worth 0.

The location is perfect for ghetto/ communist era nostalgists. Just a few meters from an infamous smelly and dirty train stations. I was offered a room just for me. When I first saw the room, how small it was and how the water tasted horrible, I was not happy. Lucky for me, I quick make friends with the local spiders, whise colony is growing with each day. I was happy to hear that their webs haven't been touched since a couple months, so they could also develop a proto-culture. The local fungus also tried to communicate with me, but unfortunately I couldn't understand what they are saying. They sure as hell gave me tho a hallucinatory feeling the next morning, combined with the sound of movies from the administration, it was sure an unforgettable night. If you want to experience living in a slum, but not actually go into one, I hope you will choose the hotel. The only minus point was the cost. :)

Great for the budget traveller. A step or two above hosteling. Very friendly staff who all speak English. Small common kitchen area with fridge, microwave, and dishes. Very clean & great location. Post office & bus stop at the corner & grocery store across the street. Beautiful residential area to walk to nearby park & easy access to the center of town in minutes by bus stop across the street.
