★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's unfortunate that this musuem is very hard to find on the Internet at least for tourists.. It's really great, for very reasonable price (about 4000HUF per person) you'll get a complex tour through Hungarian history in ENGLISH (!). I think you're not allowed to take pictures there but we did anyway and nobody stopped us so you might try too.
It's really breathtaking, I'm not lying at all to you. There are realistic entrenchment inside, very good music background different for every room and floor...
We found this museum just by chance and stepped in only for a few minutes but stayed for almost 3 hours (we had to go elsewhere, if not we would love to stay a lot longer in there) - it was totally worth it, we reccomend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I went here yesterday. I was very impressed by the direct presentations of World War 1 in Hungary. We learned a lot. Also, the museum has everything in both Hungarian and English , so it was very easy for us to read and listen to the films.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum has a great permanent exhibition about the first world war. It is a very vivid and living exhibition full of decoration, black and white movies, quote etc... The staff is also quite nice with visitors. The only improvement that could be done is that there is a lack of explanations to put things in perspective and understand better what happened. It would worth having more descriptions during the visit and/or a proper audio guide otherwise you see nice pictures and items but you dont really know exactly what is happening except if you have already historical knowledge

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The lady in the ticket booth found so much to do except for giving tickets, that after 5 minutes a long queue was built-up and we decided to leave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very powerful museum. Well designed. The museum follows the first WW using quotes. Every room designed, thoughtful and professional.
Loved it. Very refreshing history museum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This could as well be the 'museum of historic quotes'. Little context is given. The Hungarian role in the war has conveniently been left out, bar the consequences of the Trianon treaty. For that, there is even a propaganda sign for Orbans government in the very last room, which signed a controversial bill in 2010 to try and unite Hungarians.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best History Museums in Budapest.
Ground floor and First Floor are overwhelming.
It is so near an Art Museum of life, death, hope and sorrow that almost all the rooms cling to your soul.
Heartbreaking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, I just visited the exhibition and I'm speechless! I've never seen anything like this, and I've seen a lot of WW1 related museums around the world. Every room has a different approach, with spectacular lighting and sound effects. One moment you're in a WW1 trench, the next you're Versailles and ofcourse everything in between. Brilliant, can't recommend it enough!!
Oh, unfortunately you're not allowed to take pictures, but that's probably because you'll end up with more images than your camera can handle...
