Great location. Plenty of cafes and Gyros within 10m walking distance.

Good effective metro station

Personell at astoria station checked our ticket for transfer and it was ok. Next station we got a fine of 54 euro stating it was not correct. This was the last time ever we went for budapest! Seems they dont know where they earn the money from. Country is not ready for euro.

Not so nice not so clean!

Easy to get around

Dirty. Have 3 security people waiting for clueless tourists who paid for ticket but did not know that they have to validate it, so they can fine them and ruin their stay here. Wihout warining or anything. Overall bad experience with Budapest. The city is beautiful, the experience awful

Bad design, you can easily miss the ticket machine, and there's no barriers as you would expect, so they have security people taking advantage of it. We were walking around looking for ticket machine, got stopped by 2 people asking for the tickets? They wanted to fine us for not having any tickets even though we explained we were actually looking for how to get it. They really ruined our day as they were quite aggressive and were accusing us as being robbers and deceptive. They really need to improve their people skill and also fix the bad design, as a simple barrier where you validate your entrance by ticket would easily solve this issue.

Tourists beware! There are ticket checkers here preying on unsuspecting and confused tourists. Ticket machines don't stand out and are easy to miss while actively looking for them. There are no barriers or anything stopping you from going all the way down to the platform looking for the ticket machine only for these people to start to aggressively harass you. We were threatened with a fine for trespassing on private metro property without a ticket while searching for the ticket machines! They did not offer to help us find the ticket machines, they just wanted our money. They were very aggressive and threatening. We refused to pay a fine because we did not even use the metro, we were only looking around for the ticket machines and a toilet, we told these people to go ahead and check their cameras and call the police. While leaving we were called thieves, liers and cheaters!? For what? We did not use their services! Just for searching for the ticket machines? Shame on Budapest metro! Those people ruined our day in Budapest!
