Lenyűgöző,milyen szépen összeillesztették az egykor sok darabra szétszedett kápolnát. Heading towards the main altar of the basilica, it is on the left side from the entrance. J	Joli Harsányi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Bakócz-kápolnát a 16. század elején a középkori Szent Adalbert székesegyház mellékkápolnájaként Bakócz Tamás érsek a saját sírhelyének építtette. 1823-ban Packh János építész oldalkápolnaként beépítette az új székesegyházba. Ez az egyetlen épségben fennmaradt magyar reneszánsz épület. A kápolnabelső süttői "vörösmárvány" (tömör mészkő), kupolája nyújtott ellipszis alakú, az oltár carrarai, vagy luccai fehérmárvány. At the beginning of the 16th century Archbishop Tamás Bakócz built the Bakócz Chapel as a side chapel of the medieval St. Adalbert's Cathedral. In 1823 it was built by architect Packh János as a side chapel in the new cathedral. It is the only surviving Hungarian Renaissance building. The inside of the chapel is "red marble" (solid limestone), the dome of which is an ellipse of elongated shape, the white marble of the altar is Carrara or Lucca.
