A királyi várost és Szentgyörgymező városrész rövidebb úton való megközelítésére és az ún. Ószeminárium fő bejáratának elérésére szolgált. Tervezője, építője Pach János, azonos a Bazilika tervező -építőjével.
The country's first road tunnel. It was built in 182r, during the prime period of Alexander Rudnay, at the same time as the Basilica. Its length is 92 m.
The royal city and Szentgyörgymező district can be reached by a shorter route and the so called. It was used to access the main entrance of the Seminar. Its designer and builder is János Pach, the same as the designer-builder of the Basilica.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Letteralmente "Passaggio Oscuro" (Sötétkapu), è il tunnel che passa sotto la cittadella di Esztergom/Strigonio. Collega Szent István tér con la sottostante Iskola utca. Non più oscuro come un tempo, visto che ora di notte è molto ben illuminato :)
Literally "Dark Passage" (Sötétkapu), it is the tunnel that passes under the Esztergom / Strigonius citadel. Connects Szent István tér with the underlying Iskola utca. No longer as dark as it used to be, as it is very well lit at night :)

Éjszaka ki van világítva, autóval is át lehet hajtani egy irányból rajta. Minden évben megemlékeznek 56 áldozatairól itt az alagút főtér felőli emlékművénél.
It became a dark gate because of its reputation in the wake of the events of 56. Today it is more of a decoration and a tourist attraction once people died here. It is lit at night and can be driven by car from one direction. Every year, 56 of his victims are commemorated here at the tunnel’s main square monument.
