A szobrot 1961-ben, Medgyessy halála után állították fel a Déri téren.
A szobor haraszti kőből készült, 124 cm magas.
Medgyessy Ferencnek ez egy kevésbé sikerült alkotása.
Medgyessy és Móricz nem egyszerűen évfolyamtársak voltak a Református Kollégiumban, hanem felnőtt korukban jó barátok is. Mindketten Budapesten éltek, de többször találkoztak később is a városban.
 Medgyessy and Móricz were classmates at the Reformed College in Debrecen.
The statue was erected in 1961, after Medgyessy's death, in Déri Square.
The statue is made of Harasz stone, 124 cm high.
This is a less successful work by Ferenc Medgyessy.
Medgyessy and Móricz were not simply classmates at the Reformed College, but also good friends as adults. They both lived in Budapest, but met several times later in the city.
