★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Magyar Fájdalom szobrot a trianoni békeszerződés felülvizsgálatát sürgető angol sajtómágnás, Sidney Harold Harmsworth, Rothermere vikomt-ja rendelte meg a francia Emile Guillaume-tól. Azért ajándékozta Debrecennek, mert – a korabeli magyar sajtó szerint – a lord emlékezett arra, hogy az 1928-ban odalátogató fiát nagyon lelkes fogadtatásban részesítették. A szobrot 1933. május 25-én állították fel az akkor Magoss György egykori debreceni polgármester nevét viselő téren. 1945-ben ledöntötték. A városvédők 1998-ban kezdeményezték a visszaállítását. A szobrot Győrfi Lajos szobrászművész restaurálta és 2000. június 4-én avatták újra.
Emile Guillaume ebben a témában alkotott első szobra egész alakos, ez 2012 óta a soproni szanatórium (Lővérek, Várisi út) kertjében látható.
The statue of Hungarian Pain was ordered from the French press magnate Sidney Harold Harmsworth, Viscount Rothermere, urging the revision of the Treaty of Trianon from Emile Guillaume of France. He gave it to Debrecen because - according to the Hungarian press of the time - the lord remembered that his son, who visited him in 1928, was very enthusiastically received. The statue was erected on May 25, 1933 in the square named after the former mayor of Debrecen, György Magoss. It was overthrown in 1945. City defenders initiated its restoration in 1998. The sculpture was restored by sculptor Lajos Győrfi and inaugurated on June 4, 2000.
Emile Guillaume's first statue on this subject is full-figured, and since 2012 it can be seen in the garden of the sanatorium in Sopron (Lővérek, Várisi út).
