You get a little proud as a Swede and at the same time a little sad that we must continue to fight against anti-Semitism even in our time.

Raoul Wallenberg-emlékmű a Szent István park északi szárnyában található. A szépen kidolgozott meztelen férfialak küzdelme a kígyóval több jelentéssel is bír.
The Raoul Wallenberg Monument is located in the north wing of St. Stephen’s Park. The struggle of beautifully crafted naked male figures with the snake has several meanings.

The monument (created by Pál Pátzay) was originally built in 1948. However, in the hours before the inauguration ceremony scheduled for April 9, 1949, he was knocked down and transported from St. Stephen's Park in Budapest. The monument acted as its inspiration, the young Swede - disappeared. The statue was erected in 1953 in an essentially secluded place, in front of the Debrecen pharmaceutical factory, as a decorative statue as a symbol of the fight against disease. The monument has become transcendental, becoming the emblem of the pharmaceutical factory. At the initiative of the Wallenberg Sculpture Committee, founded in 1998, a copy of the sculpture was erected in 1999 in St. Stephen's Park. On the front of the pedestal there is a relief portrait of Raoul Wallenberg, on the back there is a short description.

Raoul Wallenberg was a Swedish diplomat, and humanitarian. He is remembered for saving tens of thousands of Jews in Nazi Occupied Hungary during the Holocaust from German Nazis and Hungarian Fascists during the later stages of World War II. While serving as Sweden's special envoy in Budapest between July and December 1944, Wallenberg issued protective passports and sheltered Jews in buildings designated as Swedish territory. During the siege of Budapest by the Red Army Wallenberg was detained and imprisoned by the KGB. He was later reported to have died on in 1947 in Moscow prison. The statue located in King Saint Steven park and was created by Pal Patzay.
